William James Durant (1885–1981) was an American writer, historian, and philosopher best known for co-authoring The Story of Civilization with his wife, Ariel Durant. He also gained worldwide recognition for The Story of Philosophy, which helped popularize philosophy for general readers. Durant believed in presenting history and philosophy from a broad human perspective, making complex ideas accessible and meaningful. During his visit to India in 1930, he strongly criticized British colonial rule and wrote The Case for India, highlighting the exploitation and suffering caused under British imperialism. The Durants received the Pulitzer Prize in 1968 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977.
- Haridas T. Muzumdar
Haridas T. Muzumdar was an Indian-born sociologist, educator, and author who was closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi and India’s freedom movement. Educated in both India and the United States, he later taught sociology and social work at several American universities. He actively promoted awareness about India’s independence struggle and authored several influential books on Gandhi, peace, and non-violence, becoming widely respected for his thoughtful interpretation of Gandhi’s philosophy and leadership.
Dr. Kondoor V. Abraham is a clinical psychologist, educator, author, and speaker with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. A former Professor of Counselor Education at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida, he specialized in Clinical Psychology and worked extensively with children and adults. Dr. Abraham has authored several books, published numerous articles, and is a recognized conference speaker on family and mental health related topics.
